Gabriel Greenfield has been approached by a major player in the luxury and retail world to build and deploy the next generation of its integration platform in Asia-Pacific.
Our achievements
-
General and detailed design of the new platform based on Microsoft Azure (API Management, iPaaS, Azure Data Factory)
-
Azure DevOps for CI/CD (pipeline automation, infrastructure as code)
-
Construction and deployment of Development, Testing, Acceptance and Production environments for two platforms (Asia-Pacific and China)
-
Design of the Enterprise Architecture metamodel on Ardoq to ensure the governance and management of the platform (impact and reusability analyses)
-
Implementation of the operational model (processes for managing enterprise architecture, platform, project builds, and project runs)
-
Training domain teams (architects and domain managers) on the use of the enterprise architecture repository
-
Implementation of the API portfolio and guidelines for API design and usage, customization of the API Manager portal to transform it into a resource portal for all integration needs,
-
Implementation of a business-oriented monitoring console to manage interfaces, their performance, and ensure autonomous incident recovery.
-
Design of the migration of the existing middleware to the new platform (strategy, scenarios, planning)
-
Management of the integration project portfolio and oversight of subcontractors in Hong Kong and India for Build and Run (more than 50 engineers)
-
Delivery of 40 projects comprising over 500 interfaces and APIs in the first twelve months of activity
-
Managing the hardening of the architecture towards high availability
Our intervention enabled the consolidation of the various middleware platforms towards the new generation, by standardizing and streamlining the interface design (use cases, design patterns) to ensure:
-
The industrialization of practices, as well as adherence to state-of-the-art market norms and standards, in a context of high demand with the imperative to deliver more than 40 projects and 500 interfaces in the first year
-
Improved middleware stability and reduced operational incidents, with enhanced performance, reduced costs, and a smaller environmental footprint
-
Empowering developers and users through applications such as the Portal or the Business Monitoring Console
-
New practices were created and deployed with change management support. For the first time, API-based applications were deployed, enabling the implementation of the "API First" strategy.
Client benefits
Our added value
-
Gabriel Greenfield's expertise in middleware/API architectures, as well as in delivering integration projects using agile methodologies, was fully demonstrated in this context
-
Combining middleware and enterprise architecture repository is an original vision that requires genuine experience in both disciplines to bring them together, something Gabriel Greenfield possesses
-
This expertise was also useful in defining a migration strategy to move towards a single middleware that effectively becomes the enterprise-wide flow manager and the tool for composing future business applications
